FAQ

How long will it take to get my Viettanos?

Every pair of Viettanos is hand made for you. You will receive your Viettanos to your door within 4 to 5 weeks after you submit your order (and complete your Viettano Fit Profile, if you selected custom sizing).

What is the return and refund policy?

Not quite right? Not on our watch. Every pair is inspected before it leaves our shoemakers to ensure it matches your design and customizations. If anything requires minor adjustments after your shoes arrive, we’ll work with you to make corrections — including covering up to $50 in adjustments at your local cobbler.

If your shoes arrive and don’t match the size you provided or customizations you ordered, contact us within 14 days at support@viettano.com, and we will work with you to determine next steps (no pun intended) for corrections.

How should I care for my Viettanos?

  • Break them in. Custom leather dress shoes might feel a little snug or stiff at first; that’s normal. They will begin to mold to your feet after a few wears.
  • Store them properly. Store your Viettanos in a cool, dry place between wears. Store your Viettanos with cedar shoe trees (if you have them) to maintain their shape and control moisture.
  • Keep them dry. If your shoes get wet, let them dry completely away from heat before your next wear.
  • Maintain them properly.
    • Brush away any dirt or debris from your shoes with a soft shoe brush after each wear.
    • For whole grain leather, condition and polish them regularly–ideally, at least once a month.
    • For suede, avoid wet conditions, and spot-clean any discoloration using suede leather cleaner.
    • Replace the soles when they start to show major signs of wear. Your Viettanos are constructed using a Goodyear welting technique, which means you can replace the soles multiple times through the lifetime of your pair, making your shoes last for years.

    How are Viettanos constructed?

All Viettanos are constructed using French and Italian leathers and a Goodyear welting technique. With Goodyear welting, you can replace the soles of your shoes multiple times throughout the lifetime of your pair. With proper care and maintenance, your Viettanos will look great and last for years.

What type of shoe material should I choose?

Viettano offers different material options for a variety of purposes and styles.

    • Whole grain leather offers a smooth, classic finish with a bit of shine. This is a great option for formal or casual looks of all kinds. Whole grain leather is easy to condition and polish yourself or with help from a cobbler.
    • Suede is a velvety, matte leather that offers a more casual finish to any shoe. Suede is easy to maintain, but requires different care and cleaning techniques from whole grain leather.
    • Patent leather is whole grain leather with a special coating to give it a high-gloss finish. This is a great option for people who want a shoe that stands out in a crowd. Patent leather requires some special care to prevent scuffs and scratches on its shiny surface.

What type of sole should I choose?

Viettano offers different sole options for a variety of purposes and styles.

    • Leather soles offer a classic, beautiful, and formal look. However, they can be slippery on smooth surfaces for the first few wears.
    • Leather commuter soles offer you the sleekness of a leather sole with utilitarian rubber treads to reduce slipping. These are a great option if you’re wearing your shoes regularly for work or events.
    • Rubber soles provide a more casual look to your Viettanos and are a great fit if you’re wearing your shoes in unpredictable weather, such as commuting to work.

I have a unique foot size. Will Viettanos fit me?

Yes. For people with unique foot sizes or differently-sized feet, we recommend selecting custom sizing for your Viettanos. After you check out, we'll send you instructions for completing your Viettano Fit Profile and submitting your foot measurements.

    How does custom sizing work?

For custom sizing, you need to measure your feet and provide us with your measurements in your Viettano Fit Profile. We use the measurements and information you provide to construct your shoes especially for your foot size and shape–including wide, narrow, small, large, and differently-sized feet.

    You'll need:

    • Two blank pieces of paper
    • A pen
    • A flexible measuring tape with centimeter markings

Follow the steps in this video to accurately record your foot measurements.

For custom sizing, why do I need to use a tailor measuring tape, and where can I get one?

You’ll need a tailor measuring tape to record and provide accurate measurements of your feet. Tailor measuring tapes are soft, flexible measuring tapes used to take accurate body measurements to produce garments and shoes. Tailor measuring tapes are more accurate for measuring your feet than hard rulers or measuring sticks.

You can find tailor measuring tapes (or soft measuring tapes) at major retailers or craft stores, or you can buy one online

    Are Viettanos only for men?

Absolutely not. Viettano makes shoes for anyone who wants to design their own pair of custom leather dress shoes, regardless of your gender, foot size, or foot shape.

Most masculine shoe brands provide a narrow range of sizes based on the average measurements of men’s feet, but not Viettano. When you complete your Viettano Fit Profile, we use the measurements and information you provide to construct your shoes especially for you.

How should I style my Viettanos?

We love this question! You can style your Viettanos for formal, casual, or streetwear looks–and everything in between. For style inspiration or to share your look with us, follow us on Facebook and Instagram
